Dr. Ellie Harrington is a School Psychologist and Licensed Psychologist in the state of Massachusetts with extensive clinical and research experience in behavioral school consultation, parent training, and interventions for children with neurodevelopmental conditions. She has worked with children with a diverse range of behavioral, emotional, and cognitive support needs in school, home, and outpatient clinic, and residential settings.
Dr. Harrington received her Master’s in Special Education and Doctorate in School Psychology from the University of Oregon, and completed her predoctoral internship at the May Institute where she received specialized training in early behavioral intervention for young children with autism. After graduation, she continued to gain expertise in supporting young children with autism and their families using Naturalistic Developmental Behavior Interventions (NDBIs) as a postdoctoral research fellow at Michigan State University under the supervision of Dr. Brooke Ingersoll. As part of her postdoctoral training, she supported a federally funded randomized controlled trial by developing and implementing a model for training Early Intervention service providers to use NDBIs. She is trained in two evidence-based NDBI programs: Reciprocal Imitation Teaching (RIT) and Project ImPACT.
She is a published author with research focused on socioemotional development in early childhood. Dr. Harrington has a robust record of presentations at national and international conferences, and has served as an ad hoc reviewer for Autism and the American Journal on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Through every role and research endeavor, Dr. Harrington remains dedicated to translating scientific insights into holistic, impactful, and compassionate care for autistic children and their families.
